Berwick Pharmacy has been an integral part of the Berwick and surrounding communities since the pharmacy first opened in 1948.  Stewart Holloway opened the pharmacy at its previous location of 43 High Street and then, Pharmacist Geoff Hume & Geoff Hood purchased Holloway's Pharmacy from Stewart in 1983 - the year of the major bushfires.  Much of Upper Beaconsfield was destroyed in the tragic bushfires and the pharmacy was heavily involved in supplying first aid supplies and urgent medicines to the homeless and injured.

Owners, Geoff & Geoff, decided to join the AMCAL brand and Holloway's Pharmacy then became know as 'Berwick Amcal Pharmacy'.  The first premium beauty brand was incorporated into the pharmacy at this time (Estee Lauder), which was quite a big event for Berwick in those days.  The previous year saw the Berwick bypass reach completion and this helped restore the village atmosphere to Berwick and was also the start of the next growth phase of the district.  In 1995, the pharmacy moved to its current larger location at 51 High Street and 2 new Pharmacist partners, Lee Bower and Andrew Davies, joined the partnership to assist with the expansion.

In August 1996 the new concept store opened, one of the largest community pharmacies in Australia, providing exceptional customer service and best practice professional pharmacy.  In 2011, after a major refit and further building extensions, the pharmacy continued winning awards for best practice and exceptional customer service and continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community.

In 2008, Darren Pountney, Chris Allan, Pete Tzimos and Grahame Beecroft purchased the pharmacy and from 2015 the owners changed to Darren Pountney, Kelly Pountney, Pete Tzimos, Stav Mantas-Tzimos, Janette Beecroft and Grahame Beecroft. In February 2019 Stephen Chan joined the partnership.

The seven current partners also own and operate Eden Rise Pharmacy at Eden Rise Shopping Centre, which is 5km south of Berwick.
