We touch many common surfaces & objects every day, often without noticing. This increases the risk of spreading COVID-19, germs & other bacteria.
If someone has COVID-19 and droplets from their cough or sneeze land on a surface, other people can become infected if they touch this and then touch their eyes, nose or mouth.
That’s why it is so important when you’re out and about to:
• wipe down and disinfect surfaces before and after use, if possible
• avoid touching your face
• wash or sanitise your hands often, including before eating,
• wash or sanitise your hands again when you get home.
Look out for: money, countertops, door handles, elevator buttons, hand rails, keyboards, petrol pumps and shopping trolleys.
