Red Apple Day

Red Apple Day (Wednesday, 16 June 2021) is Bowel Cancer Australia’s Annual Giving Day, when Australians are encouraged to support the vital work of the charity.

If you’ve ever thought about raising funds and awareness for bowel cancer, then Red Apple Day is the time to do it!

Host an apple themed virtual brunch, morning or afternoon tea, dinner or evening catch-up.

Create your Red Apple Day online fundraising page as an individual or a team now.

Bowel Cancer Australia’s apple logo is symbolic of the charity’s bowel cancer message: bowel cancer is treatable and beatable if detected early.

The outline of Bowel Cancer Australia’s apple logo appears as an abstract of a human bowel. The small hole in the apple is caused by a worm. If detected early and removed, the worm is unable to continue affecting the apple or the health of the tree.

It’s the same with people. If bowel cancer is detected early it can be successfully treated, which means patients and their families can continue to enjoy a healthy life.

Both red and green apples are also a nutritious source of dietary fibre.

Do you have a food allergy?

Do you have a food allergy?

Our Pharmacy Services

If you have a food allergy and are at risk of anaphylaxis, you can reduce your risk of having a reaction when eating out by taking some precautions:
πŸ“ƒAlways carry your ASCIA Action Plan and your EpiPen. (Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia recommends: If you do not have your EpiPen with you, do not eat.)
πŸ’»Read the menu before you go to see if there are food choices that suit you. If the restaurant serves a lot of dishes that contain the food you are allergic to, it may be better to choose another venue and cuisine.
πŸ“±Call ahead to ask if the restaurant can cater for your needs.
πŸ₯œAlways tell staff about your allergy at the restaurant and ask questions.
🍜🍴πŸ₯›Avoid sharing food, cutlery and other tableware.

Health & Wellness

Stress isn’t always a bad thing – sometimes it helps you get through a tough situation by making you feel more alert and capable. But it can also be overwhelming and affect your quality of life.
How can you recognise when stress is a problem? Some questions you can ask yourself include:
– Can you switch off when you want to rest? Or can you not stop thinking?
– Are you coping? Or do little things get you down?
– Do you feel mostly calm? Or do you feel irritable?
