  • Never leave kids in cars

Never leave your most precious valuables, your children, alone in the car.

The never leave kids in cars campaign prompts parents to take their kids with them whenever they get out of the car, just as they do their everyday valuables, to avoid potentially tragic consequences.

The risk of heatstroke and dehydration is very real

  • a child’s body temperature rises three to five times faster than an adults’
  • even on a mild day, the temperature inside a parked car can be 20 to 30 degrees hotter than the temperature outside
  • when it’s 30 degrees outside, a child could be suffering in up to 60-degree heat
  • leaving the windows down has little effect on the inside temperature of the car
  • large cars heat up as quickly as smaller cars.

Definitely not snowing here in Melbourne (forecast for today is 41 degrees), but doesn’t mean we can’t covet these Chanel makeup essentials.

Goodbye Ruth and thank you!

Goodbye Ruth and thank you!

Pharmacy news

Yet another farewell! Our beloved pharmacist Ruth has decided to hang up her dispensing jacket and retire.

Ruth has been with us since 2009, and in that time, has looked after her patients and fellow staff with kindness and compassion. She has assumed the mantle of Overseer of Weekly Medico-Paks and has organised the packing into the well-oiled machine it is today.

We’ll miss Ruth’s sense of humour and the scathing looks she shoots us when we’re trying to rile her up. And who else will ask us “what’s for dinner?” at 4pm everyday?

Ruth, thank you for a decade of hard work, thoughtfulness and fun in the dispensary. We wish you a happy retirement, full of all the sewing and crafting that your heart desires.
